With two clips at about 6 million views in total already there's still no better way to show off talent than a simple set ... one which gets over 300,000 views in two days is a good way to demonstrate the core talent that can be obscured by "production values" ...

Paul McGuinness, has been managing U2 since they were teenagers; quoted in the FT Dec 5, 2009 he said a few prescient things as a 58 year old who knows a bit about the cliposphere:

"But what dismays me a little about the online universe is that these corporations, like Google and MySpace and Apple, don't have anything that's the equivalent of artist relations"

In fact YouTube does have a bit of that however how much? Not enough for certain.

The next comment from McGuinness however is one that really needs listening to:

"One day, tech groups will have their own talent scouts and digital versions of record labels....."

Any business like YouTube needs to up their game right now, hire some of the great A+R people out there, and be actively encouraging acts to "sign" to your "tech" entity.

Yes I mean an artists signing deals with YouTube or MySpace; not with some old world recording company like EMI, or a talent agency, certainly not anyone still pushing out content on polycarbonate discs.

These "tech" companies all need to be scouting (scouring) their own platforms and those of their competition for talent. That may be singers, bands, comics, drama shows and creative writers or even TV show presenters.

YouTube could have signed singer Esmee Denters for a song early on in 2007.

YouTube could have done a deal with Jeff Dunham in late 2007 as his now 100 million view video sensation "Achmed the Dead Terrorist" started to bite.

They had all the relevant data at their fingertips to see sensations in the making; yet did nothing much with it commercially.

Moving to sign the right people fast of course takes skill, let alone backing, developing and nurturing that talent with music, TV, and film development teams; are the "tech" guys up to the challenge?

One thing's for sure; there are a lot of "old" music and media industry people out there looking for work right now ... the talent pool is sitting there right under the noses of MySpace, YouTube, Google and Apple ...

Creative Aitists Agency, Warners and the like better all look out ...

cliposphere goes gaga with millions of views a day

It's been a while since a post however right now the cliposphere has suddenly gone gaga.

With over 6 million views already the Bad Romance video by Lady Gaga has raised the bar being seen at the rate of about 2 million views a day.

The ability to embed and share has to be pivotal to the view count.

What happens when you take three people who are already YouTube "stars", add the word porn, plus access totality of over 4.5 million subsribers?

In the cliposphere the "The Station" shows this means close to half a million views in a day (and comments by the thousand)... but does it make any sense?

Of course it does - the ability to pop any clip into the top of the ratings (#3 most viewed today) at will; that's worth real money.

Fly Swatting clips

In the cliposphere "fly swatting" is rife. It seems that globally important events like the devastation of world records, the rise of talents, homages to all to all time greats and much more are increasingly un-available.

The latest million view clip no sooner reaches that level (showing global interest and appreciation) to then vanish from the cliposphere.

As the world struggles to get itself out of the mire of economic disaster and people like broadcasters and creative types lament their inability to make money; their failure to enjoy from some of the most glaringly logical and obvious commercial benefits and income streams that are there for the taking is rather curious.

Making a clip "scarce" may increase its value, if it's a song or a performance, however where it's a human being running for less than 10 seconds it remains somewhat hard to fathom the approach.

With a million plus views 19 yr old Stacy Solomon, single mother/student from Dagenham singing “What A Wonderful World”, is now known globally within a week.

The cliposphere sees a million views that fast for only one reason; there's something more going on than just a regular talent show appearance. This girl has already secured a decent future singing if she wants it. Sport can and does still pull down major numbers on YouTube and in the Cliposphere with over 1 million views alone of the new 100m world record for Usain Bolt; Berlin proves running is no exception.

The language of the clip is Dutch which shows a continued thirst for content globally fighting with limited availability of content and an evident mis-match. I can't embed the best video of the race however the link to that, which has an English soundtrack, is below:

One clip gets 1.9 million views in 3 weeks, another clip 1.5 million views in 7 days, and now there's 1.6 million views logged in 6 days for this clip that's probably not going to ever be aired in full "on CNN" :

Britain leads the global youtube rally this week by a country mile.

It's impossible to tell how many new people have been added to the on-line video user base as Britains got Talent grabs 18/23 of most viewed clips; the top 7 of 9 clips are Boyle performances; simply stunning.

Trumped for the day globally so far by the trailer for "New Moon", due no doubt the the multiple clips Boyle can viewed in, this proves that in the cliposhere you may not stay at the top for long and may not even get there ... at least on youtube.

The fact is that youtube does not appear to truly rank the most viewed clip of the day as the system does not publicly consolidate multiple postings of the same content.

The story below from WIRED shows how difficult things are becoming in the cliposhpere when they should be getting so easy.

How can a person anywhere in the world easily get a "revenue sharing account" with youtube?

Isn't it simple enough to clear rights for something that seems to be a sure win for all concerned?

Why is youtube populated with many "not available" clips on a geographic basis?

Why is the embedding of youtube clips being blocked widely; when there appears to be little economic benefit to anyone?

I'm going to stick my neck out here and say that Olivia Thai should be able to do what was done in Holland a while ago ... she deserves a deal, can be great in China/Asia and all it takes is for her to be discovered by the right people.

A few of her clips will crest a million each in the blink of an eye as she gets "traction".

Lets see if I'm right - one things for sure is the cliposphere can make her; what she does over the next month or two will be crucial.

Lionsgate have led the way in exploiting the cliposphere and yet have disabled embedding on their December flick clip so we are less than happy that the freedom to see a great movie clip on this site isn't right there without a jump...

... still with 2 million views in just a few days its worth a look at their youtube site and we don't mind directing you there ... the cliposhpere is evolving all the time and if they want to keep the real estate tightly controlled thats their model.

In a few hours youtube takes the Cliposphere live and the world changes again .. I've not been over keen to put up every big rating highly viewed clip ever so its great to see hotforwords, michael buckley, tay zonday, mythbusters, esmee denters and a few more out there that were spotted here a long time ago!

Has the Cliposphere come of age and should the TV broadcasters of the world be concerned ....?

Nick Cage and the Pang brothers blast away a few asides and a bunch of bad guys and yet again add explosions plus pace and the Cliposphere will take care of the rest; 500,000 views is easy now for mainstream movie makers willing to show their hand a bit and share what's to come. Close to that in 5 days for this clip.

The main clip is a 2 million+ view

As an integral part of the launch and promo strategy for any movie is the Cliposphere which can't be ignored and must be used.

This approach is an essential part of the strategy to launch and in-cinemas hype for a movie of any type ... to not harness its power is to ignore a major zero cost option and live in the dark ages; Batman was being promoted very early and we can expect earlier and longer internet based run-ups.

Taking a few parts of the trailer and some "the making of" cuts was obviously a short job for the editing crew at LionsGate and kicks the visibility of the film up internationally.

This clip is not a star in any way - its use though is perfect. The lionsgate youtube site is 2 years old, features 100 clips and they have the hang of it.

Make and impact and do it with a very bang ...... half a million views a day may follow.

The Cliposhpere simply loves explosions and the bigger the bangs are the higher the view count goes; if possible involve a lot of equipment as well.

Anything blowing up is probably going to get a few views and this 500,000 in a day clip from the "mythbusters" team shows that you don't really have to be witty to make a big impression; you just need to let rip with a massive and powerful machine that makes a lot of noise and the Clipospere will take care of the rest.

If you think its simply down to who made the clip and that the team of Adam & Jamie are sure win mega-hits in the Cliposphere you are totally wrong.

View counts of videos from the same team so far show there hasn't really been anything like this one ... well apart from the one on farts and pretty girls .... still a clip about explosions though I say ... with sex and perversion added and we all know how much that helps ...

Imagine if they had made a slightly different image choice this time what may have happened ...
